Bonnie had her first skunk experience last night. She did not get doused, just a light spritz. A good thing because there was only about 20 oz of hydrogen peroxide in the house. Here is the skunk remedy recipe. It is the only thing I know that works.
1 qt Hydrogen Peroxide
1/4 c Baking Soda
1 tsp Liquid Soap
Soak with undiluted solution and rinse with plain water.
Jessie was sprayed twice before she learned about skunks. Once at 4:00am when I was up early to drive to Denver for a conference. I bathed her with tomato juice and took her to the dog sitter. That was before I knew about the aforementioned remedy. She was banished to the dog sitter’s garage for the weekend. The last time she was sprayed at about 2:00am. A few months later we were running outside town. She saw the skunk before I did and crossed to the opposite side of the road and ignored it. I followed her lead.
Bonnie was clearly not happy about the smell. I think it bothered her more than me. She was headed to the tub before I could say, “I think we need a bath.” I felt sorry for her because the hydrogen peroxide mixture was cold and she was shivering straight away. I quickly rinsed her with warm water and the smell and shivering were gone. Then she raced around the house doing the joyous, drying-off-dance.

Love the video! Your dog is adorable!
I missed the location guessing game. I would have guessed Bandolier straight away from the first photo!
